You can treat your kids to their favorite dinner and help other children at the same time by attending Pizza Wars V, 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15 at the Niles North High School main gymnasium, 9800 Lawler Ave., Skokie.
Ten local pizza restaurants will compete for the title of 2015 winner, including the 2014 champion, Village Inn Pizzeria. Your family will sample pizzas provided by the contenders and vote for your favorite. Money raised will benefit the District 219 Education Foundation, providing assistance for needy children in Skokie, Morton Grove, Lincolnwood, Niles and Golf.
One highlight of the event is a pizza eating contest between Skokie Mayor George Van Dusen, Morton Grove Mayor Daniel DiMaria, Lincolnwood Mayor Jerry Turry and Niles Mayor Andrew Przybylo. They’ll compete to see who can down the most pizza in five minutes.
Student bands from Niles North and Niles West High Schools will perform.
