Incumbents and newcomers have filed to run in Norridge and Harwood Heights area elections

Residents of Norridge and Harwood Heights will be able to influence all forms of local government come April.

Candidates have filed petitions to run with the Cook County Clerk’s Office and local government bodies.

On the April 7 consolidated election ballot are openings on the boards of both the villages of Norridge and Harwood Heights, the Eisenhower Public Library, the Norwood Park Fire Protection District, the Norridge Park District and the Union Ridge, Pennoyer and Norridge school districts.

Trustee seats open on the Norridge Village Board are those held by Dominic Falagario, Dominic Sulimowski and Donald Gelsomino.

All three will be seeking re-election, Gelsomino said.

Also running is Peter Pavone.

In Harwood Heights, the Village Trustee terms are expiring for Mark Dobrzycki, Michael Gadzinski and Therese Schuepfer.

Gadzinski and Schuepfer are running on the TEAM Building Party ticket along with Jeffrey Rasche.

Dobrzycki is running on the First Choice Party ticket, along with first Kevin White and Demetrios “Jimmy” Mougolias, who formerly served as a village trustee and ran unsuccessfully for village president in 2013.

Three seats are available on the Ridgewood High School District 234 board currently held by Tony Caringella, Michael Glaub and Richard Massaro.

All three are seeking reelection.

Also running for a seat on the high school board is Lisa Malicki

On the Norridge Park District Board, incumbents Dorothy Ellsworth and Thomas Lorscheider are seeking re-election to six-year terms.

Running to finish out the two four-year unexpired terms are James Miller and Jack Bielak,

The two seats held by Tom Sticha and Gail Burkhart are up on the Eisenhower Library Board. Both are expected to seek reelection. Another candidate, Gary Ross, reportedly has filed, but library officials were reluctant to confirm until the county posted the official roster.

Three trustee positions, currently held by Paul Szczurek, Wayne Jarosz and Leonard Romano, are up on the Norwood Park Fire Department Board.

Jarosz and Romano will be on the ballot along with Jerome Kolaski. Szczurek is not seeking reelection.

Norridge Park District Commissioners Dorothy Ellsworth, Tom Lorscheider and William Larson all are expected to seek re-election.

The seats held by Frances Perna and Robert Hesslau will be on the ballot for Union Ridge School District 86 in Harwood Heights. Both have filed to be returned the board.

At Pennoyer School District 79 in Norridge, the terms of Patrizia Alaimo, Mark Diatte, Sheila Wachholder and Mark Neri will expire in April.

Diatte and Neri will seek re-election. Also running is Lisa Nixon

Voters in Norridge School District 80 will have the responsibility to consider candidates running for spots currently held by Srbo Radisavljevic, Vesna Jocic, Mike Bellafiore and Jennifer Paoletti.

Radisavijevic, Bellafiore and Paoletti will seek re-election. Warner DeJulio also has filed to serve on the school board.
